A GILT BRONZE ‘BUDDHIST LION’ FINIAL
18TH CENTURY
The lion is cast seated on its haunches with one front paw resting upon a
brocade ball. It bears a ferce expression on its face and its tightly curled mane,
eyebrows and bushy tail are rendered in fne detail. There are three circular
apertures to the underside for attachment.
