A BRONZE DRAGON-HANDLED VASE
SONG DYNASTY
the pear-shaped body rising from a splayed foot to a waisted neck and slightly everted
galleried mouthrim, the neck decorated with a band enclosing archaistic motifs and flanked
by a pair of handles cast in the form of dragon heads, the lower body with a broad wave-
patterned band, all above a band of archaistic designs encircling the foot
27 cm., 10 5/8 in.
