           㶭 曺     QING DYNASTY, 18TH / 19TH CENTURY
           ⋩ 䌱     carved as a slender elongated double gourd borne on an
           ℓġ 晽    openwork branch issuing leafy tendrils and two smaller gourds
            İġ 䤷   suspended along the upper bulb, a bat wrapping itself across
           ⋩ 䤧     one side of the lower bulb, the stone a pale even celadon, wood

                                                                㶭 䘥     QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
                                                                ⋩ 䌱     the squirrel standing atop a large grape leaf with the forelegs
                                                                ℓ 晽     bent and the neck and head lowered, the tail sweeping down in
                                                                ᶾ 㜦     an arc at the other end of the leaf, a cluster of large grapes to
                                                                䲨ġġġ 滈  one side of the animal, the stone an even white with an orange-
                                                                    吉   russet skin at the underside of the leaf and at the base of the
                                                                    厬   squirrel’s tail
