399 A Kyoto school ivory netsuke of a fukurasuzume,
by Genkô. Late 18th/early 19th century
The stylised sparrow’s body partly engraved with plumage,
the eyes of dark horn. Signed Genkô.

400 A black wood netsuke of a tortoise. 19th century
With head emerging from underneath the carapace,
the legs closely pressed to the body, the central hexagonal
segment of the carapace with an eyelet for the cord.

401 A bone netsuke of a frog and a snail on a mushroom.
Late 19th century
Both animals climbing on each side of an oval shaped
mushroom cap, separated by a budding chrysanthemum
branch lying across. Restoration.
