‘LANDSCAPE’ TABLE SCREEN
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The panel is carved on one side depicting
a scholar and his attendant in a landscape
scene detailed with rocky cliffs, tall jagged
mountains, and pine trees. The reverse side is
decorated with lotus flowers. The stone is of
an even pale tone.

A RARE CELADON JADE
‘BAJIXIANG’ SUPPER SET
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The central barbed-rim dish is carved in relief
with a Shou character surrounded by five bats
in flight, encircled by eight lotus petal-shaped
trays, each carved with one of the Bajixiang,
‘Eight Buddhist Emblems’, and the rims with
keyfrets. The stones are of a semi-translucent,
even pale celadon tone.
