COVER
SONG DYNASTY, 11TH-12TH CENTURY
The body is potted with eight vertical lobes
that rise to incised horizontal bands at the base
of the trumpet neck. It is applied with a strap
handle attached on top with a small loop. The
cover is decorated to the centre with three
leaves and a floral bud. It is covered overall
with a transparent pale aqua glaze.

A QINGBAI SLIP-DECORATED
CHRYSANTHEMUM-SHAPED
INCENSE BOX AND COVER
SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
The box and cover are each moulded with
two registers of chrysanthemum petals on the
sides, decorated with slip on the cover with
a central florette encircled by leaf motifs,
covered with a transparent glaze of pale bluish-
white tone extending partially to the base.
