YONGLE INCISED FOUR-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A CIRCLE AND
OF THE PERIOD ( 1403-1424) 盌敞口,口沿呈六等分葵花瓣式,深弧壁,圈足。通體及足
内施甜白釉,内壁暗印龍紋。
The bowl is thinly potted with widely flared sides rising to a
notched rim formed as six petals and finely moulded around the 永樂甜白器以其瑩潤白膩之釉色得名,素有「白如凝脂,素
interior with two striding dragons and is covered inside and out 猶積雪」之美譽。於薄如卵幕般之胎體上壓印紋飾,永樂朝
with a clear white glaze except for the unglazed foot rim. 工匠爐火純青的技藝由此可見一斑。

Kong, 1999, p. 110-111, no. 101 (fig. 1). A second example is in the
Percival David Foundation of Art, museum number PDF.400, currently
housed at the British Museum, where another bowl of this type but
with anhua Buddhist Emblems is also exhibited, museum number PDF.
