AN UNUSUAL ARCHAISTIC SEMI-TRANSPARENT MUSTARD-
GREEN GLASS BOTTLE
1780-1850
Of elongated pear shape with circular raised discs on each main side
carved with archaistic rice-pattern C-scrolls between lotus petals at
the foot and a band of further C-scrolls and a single bow-string band
at the tall waisted neck and flat rim with regular mouth opening, the
narrow sides delicately carved with opposing single plantain leaves, all
supported on a short rounded oval foot ring with shallow cut flat base,
the matrix of the glass of mostly mustard-green tone with some honey-
brown swirling, spirally through the body and neck.
