A SANCAI-GLAZED FIGURE OF A COURT
LADY
Tang Dynasty
Standing in a wide stance in an ochre-glazed skirt
and wearing a spotted sancai upper garment with
a long green shawl thrown across her left shoulder
and gathered at the front over her crossed arms,
the chest and head unglazed with features picked
out in black and red pigments, the hair tied in a high
double chignon.
