each row separated by stylised scrolls, the handle set into the top surface
also with decorative scrolls.

A bronze container with a bull-head cover
Han Dynasty
The ovoid vessel with a flattened foot elongated neck with an inscription
on one side and rising to the neck capped with a circular cover shaped
as a broad-snouted animal-head with a small ring linking a short chain
to a further large ring attached to the C-shaped handle topped with an
arching animal-head finial.

Han Dynasty
Of square section and raised on a slightly flaring foot, the sides una-
dorned except for two taotie-mask loose-ring handles, the square facet-
ted cover with an animal-like finial at the centre of each side.

An archaic bronze hanging jar and cover
Warring States
The bottle-shaped jar with four bands around the body each cast with
two rows of stylised scrolls, the neck with lappets pointing upwards en-
closing scrolls flanked by two rings each linking two chains attached to
the arched handle, the chains passing on each side through two further
rings attached to the gently domed cover.
