a) Wen Yongchen (1922-1995) Couplet of
Calligraphy in Regular Script, ink on paper,
pair of vertical scrolls, unmounted, the right
scroll inscribed in miniature script with the
text of the couplet and dated si shi si nian
yuan dan (1955, new year’s day), and with
a dedication to Beishou, the left scroll dated
jiawu qiu ri (1954, autumn) and signed Wen
Yongchen with three artist’s seals.

b) Cao Yaochen (20th century) and Gao Xin
(1905-1993) Two Calligraphies, each ink on
paper, mounted together on a hanging scroll,
the upper dedicated to Beishou and signed
Cao Yaochen with one artist’s seal; the lower
dedicated to Boshou and signed Gao Xin
with one artist’s seal.
