Qianlong mark, contemporary
Rendered in the Mughal ‘chrysanthemum’ style of tight lobed
vertical ridges encircling the domical lid and compressed globular
sides, surmounted by a tear-drop shaped finial and supporting an
attenuated spout opposing the handle rendered as a long-horned
ram butting the shoulder, the recessed base of the short foot bearing
the simply-incised four-character mark; the stone of white color
mottled in patches of subtle icy inclusions.

A CARVED JADE COVERED BOWL
Qianlong mark, 20th century
Rendered in the Mughal style, of compressed globular section
surmounted by a lotus blossom form finial, the remaining exterior
surfaces also covered in stylized raised relief lotus petal bands,
the recessed base of the raised foot bearing the four character
mark carved in archaistic seal characters, all in stone of dark olive
hue subtly mottled in cloudy inclusions; raised on a fitted wood
stand also formed of stylized lotus petal motifs.

20th century
Of standard triangular shape covered in densely-composed shallow-
relief repeating leiwen patterns and surrounded by reticulated bands
of archaistic beast and confronting fish motifs along the sides; the
stone of deep spinach hue whorled in subtle veins of cloudy white
and flecked in black inclusions.
