Of flattened form, with a flat lip surrounding a wide mouth, with a
black glass overlay oval foot rim, and two fixed ring mask handles high
on the shoulders.

18th century
Of compressed form and pinched slightly at the foot, with a waisted neck
and flat lip surrounding a wide mouth, with an oval concave foot, the
body bearing vermillion splashes on an opalescent ground.

An unusual carved red overlay yellow glass snuff bottle
Probably Imperial Glassworks, Beijing, 1760-1840
Of flattened ovoid form with a flat lip and oval ruby-colored foot rim,
the opaque lemon yellow body adorned on each side with a stylized chi
dragon in profile with a young chi dragon alongside.

The ruby red and lemon yellow color combination seen in this bottle is
uncommon, although a bottle with an identical palette--also attributed
to the Imperial Glassworks--was in the Hildegard Schonfeld collection at
Christie’s New York, 13 March 2013.
