A SKY-BLUE GLASS CIRCULAR INK BOX AND COVER
Wheel-engraved Qianlong four-character mark in a square and of the
period, probably Beijing Palace Workshops
The circular vessel with flat top and base and cylindrical sides, the
glass of a rare sky-blue tone, a simple ridge cut to the box to fit
snuggly with the cover.

A similarly-toned transparent cobalt-blue glass dish bearing a wheel-
cut Qianlong seal mark was sold at Christie’s, Hong Kong, ‘Luminous
Colours: Treasures from the Shorenstein Collection’ 1 December
2010, lot 2938.
Other transparent blue glass vessels are illustrated in the exhibition
catalogue, Elegance and Radiance, The Art Museum, The Chinese
University of Hong Kong, 2000, pp. 142-43 and p.p.158-59, nos. 30
and 42 respectively and a later opaque white glass cylindrical box
and cover is also illustrated, pp.246-47, no. 87.
