Qianlong mark and of the period, 1735-1796
Finely enameled with a continuous scene a foreign couple seated with
their hound under a tree, reversed by two gentlemen in conversation in
a landscape setting, all beneath a band of ruyi on the shoulder, with a
copper lip and foot rim, and the four-character mark to the foot.

A FAMILLE ROSE ENAMELED PORCELAIN ‘EROTIC’ SNUFF
BOTTLE
Jingdezhen kilns, Qianlong mark, 1820-1880
Of tapering ovoid form, with a waisted neck, the flaring lip and
spreading oval foot ring heightened in gilt, the front and back with two
raised panels, one depicting a couple engaged in amorous activity,
the other painted with a thatch-roofed gazebo nestled in a tranquil
landscape, all against a turquoise glazed ground with stippled details;
the underside bearing the four-character Qianlong mark in iron-red seal
script.
