A GREEN GLASS OVERLAY SNUFF BOTTLE
Yangzhou school, 1800-1840
Of flattened circular form rising from a straight oval foot, finely carved
through the emerald green overlay to the opaque milky white glass,
showing a frogs in a lotus pond with waves incised, with a four
character inscription in seal script reading above, the reverse showing
a lotus and vegetables with a seal reading Qiuwan.

A FINELY INSCRIBED CHALCEDONY SNUFF BOTTLE
Possibly Imperial, 1750-1820
Well-hollowed, of flattened baluster form with a waisted neck, flat lip,
a splayed oval foot ring surrounding its recessed foot, one side incised
with two swallows swooping towards a blooming peony plant, the
reverse with an imperially inscribed poem matching the theme of the
incised painting, two raised faux lion mask-and-ring handles framing
the shoulders.
