A LARGE LONGQUAN CELADON JAR AND COVER, GUAN
16TH-17TH CENTURY
The body of the jar is carved with moulded panels each enclosing peach, begonia, asters, and peonies, all
above a stif leaf band by the foot. The cover is decorated with scrolling fowers surrounding a brown-
washed Buddhist lion fnial. The jar and cover are covered in a thick olive-green glaze.
