     A FINELY CARVED BAMBOO BRUSHPOT, BITONG
     17TH/18TH CENTURY

     The cylindrical brushpot is carved in high and low relief with scholars and attendants pursuing various
     leisurely activities, including painting, calligraphy and playing a qin, all set within a bamboo and pine tree
     setting. The bamboo is of a rich warm brown tone.
