A CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL DOU-SHAPED BOX AND COVER
18TH CENTURY
The vessel is modelled after a dou, a ritual vessel. The globular body is decorated with scrolling lotus
between ruyi-head bands, and the high foot is decorated with stif leaves and a further ruyi-head band. The
domed cover is surmounted by an openwork gilt metal fnial.
