                                                        Two Gandhara Buddha heads of grey schist stone                                                        A Gandhara grey schist stone relief of "The teaching Buddha",
                                                        and stucco, both with defined head and pronounced                                                     executed in combined low relief and engraved. He is seated in
                                                        ushnisha. 3rd-4th century AD. H. 12 and 14 cm. (2)                                                    dhayanasana on a lotus throne, dressed in a richly pleated robe,
                                                        Provenance: Danish private collection. Acquired in Karachi,                                           the hands in the dharmachakra mudra, serene face with urna, the
                                                        Pakistan, in the 1960s.  DKK 6,000–8,000 / € 805–1,100                                                head backed by a halo. 3rd-4th century AD. H. 31 cm.

                                                        A Gandhara grey schist stone relief of "Siddharta rides
                                                        a ram to school”. The young prince, later to become
                                                        the Buddha, rides a ram surrounded by followers. The
                                                        scenery is depicted in a niche, remains of a column to
                                                        the right. 3rd-4th century AD. H. 13 cm. L. 18 cm.
                                                        Provenance: Danish private collection. Acquired in Karachi,
                                                        Pakistan, in the 1960s.
