A SQUARE TIANHUANG SEAL
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The square columnar seal is surmounted by a horse-form finial,
with an eight-character poetic inscription carved in intaglio on
the seal face. The stone is of a warm caramel tone suffused with
‘radish veining’ with some inherent russet fissures and small areas of
2860 greyish mottling.

AN OVAL TIANHUANG SEAL
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The finial of the seal is carved as a carp in the round above waves.
The seal face is carved with a two-character inscription in relief
reading Lanyuan ‘Orchid Garden’. The stone is of a pale orange-
yellow tone suffused with ‘radish veining’.
