                 A SMALL GREYISH-WHITE AND DARK BROWN
                 JADE FIGURE OF A RECUMBENT
                 MYTHICAL BEAST
                 LATE MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
                 Shown with the head turned back towards the tufted tail, the well-carved
                 beast has a single horn, segmented mane, laid-back ears, well-detailed
                 claws, scroll-outlined haunches and a knobby backbone. The greyish-
                 white stone has extensive brown markings.
