                  STAND
                  18th century
                  The twelve-armed deity seated in dhyanasana on a waisted double
                  lotus base carved with lions and scrolling clouds in openwork design,
                  the two front hands held before the chest in anjali mudra, the others
                  radiating around him and holding different implements, the face with a
                  meditative expression flanked by pendulous ears, the hair arranged in
                  a high chignon.
                  Overall 38.5cm (15 1/8in) high (2).

                  Intricately carved with lotus leaves and reeds all issuing from long thin
                  intertwining reticulated stems, with a crawling crab grasping a stem
                  with its claws, all under clusters of nandina, with two bronze ducks
                  realistically rendered, all raised on a rectangular huanghuali stand, top
                  with inset marble panel above a pierced and carved key-fret design
                  apron.
                  Overall 68.5cm (27in) high (4).

                  A LARGE PAIR OF GILT DRY-LACQUER FIGURES OF MANJUSRI
                  ON LIONS AND LACQUERED WOOD STANDS
                  19th century
                  Shown seated holding, respectively, a palm leaf and a scroll, wearing
                  long, flowing robes open to expose the bare chest, the face carved
                  with delicate features, seated in in lalitasana atop the back of a
                  recumbent lion with head turned to the side, both on red lacquer
                  wasted pedestals decorated with four panels bearing intricate lattice
                  designs.
                  The figures 47cm (18 1/2in) high (4).
