Boldly enamelled with a panorama of landscape,
the central foreground scattered with peasants
sowing at the rice paddy fields, framed by
gnarled trees beside a tiled cottage on craggy
rocks, all overshadowed by an extended ridge
of rough mountains and cliffs at the background,
backdropped by a subtle wash at the background
delineating the distant mountain peaks, framed.

Signed Chen Yaoxing (1923-1998), dated by
inscription to AD1960
Depicting a riverscape scene with a tiled hexagonal
pavilion standing on a flat headland flanked by
two willow trees, four fishermen holding their oars,
standing and drifting two junks along the river,
canopied by drooping branches issued from two
gnarled willow trees at the foreground, framed.
Overall 65.4cm (25 3/4in) x 49.5cm (19 1/2in)
