                     FOuR lATe Pyu gOld cOINs
                     Pyu city-states, 10th century. The
                     small coins of circular shape and
                     crafted from solid gold with fine
                     repoussé showing Vedic symbols,
                     including one with a dharmachakra,
                     all with hooks on the reverse, likely
                     added later, for use as buttons.
                     Provenance: Ex-Collection of The
                     Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold
                     Museum. Institutional art collection in
                     Belgium, acquired from the above.
                     condition: Very good condition with
                     expected minor traces of age and
                     wear. Fine copper red patina.
                     Weight: 4.1 g (total)
                     Dimensions: Diameter 1.1 cm (the
                     largest) and 0.9 cm (the smallest)
