The present frescoes are inspired by earlier
each depicting a celestial deity attired in ß owing depictions of Buddhist deities, like the ones ⃫ġİġ㖶ġġġ䀘㲍⼑丒⣑⤛⚾⡩䔓㭀悐
robes, sashes, and ornaments, the saintly seen in the Mogao grottoes at Dunhuang. ᶨ⮵
round faces painted with delicate features Compare the sculpture and murals in Cave 57,
