A HENAN RUSSET-SPLASHED BLACK-
GLAZED BOWL
SONG DYNASTY (AD 960-1279)
The bowl has rounded sides and a slightly incurved
rim, is covered overall with a lustrous black glaze
liberally splashed in russet with ‘partridge feather
mottles’ thinning to a mottled appearance and
ending in an irregular line well above the foot to
expose the ware of of-white color.
