A CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON
TRIPOD CENSER
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The censer is raised on three animal-mask feet and
the sides are incised with ‘cash’ pattern between
two bands of applied forets below two rope-twist
handles at the rim. The censer is covered with a
thick glaze of soft sea-green color except for an
area in the center of the interior which was left in
the biscuit and impressed with a fower spray.
