A CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON
TRIPOD CENSER
MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
The deep bombé-form body is raised on three cabriole legs
and carved with forets within a geometric design below
a band of cloud pattern on the straight neck. It is covered
overall with a crackled glaze of sea-green tone with the
exception of the unglazed center of the interior and the
protruding rounded center of the base.
