A RARE BLUE AND WHITE EWER AND COVER
CHONGZHEN PERIOD (1628-1644)
The ewer has a compressed tapering body decorated with a
continuous river landscape below a band of ruyi-heads on the
shoulder below the neck, and is set with a faceted S-shaped spout
emerging from a lion mask opposite the imitation-bamboo handle.
The domed cover is decorated with ruyi-heads below the lotus bud
fnial.
