A LARGE FAMILLE VERTE JAR AND COVER
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The jar is decorated with four, large petal-shaped panels enclosing baskets of fowers and separated by
tall vases below four shaped panels of mythical beasts, all on a stippled green ground decorated with
groupings of ‘antiques’ and scattered fowers. The domed cover with Buddhist-lion-form fnial is decorated
with alternating panels of mythical beasts and fowers.
