This set of tdsei gusoku was owned by the
twelfth Tokugawa shogun, leyoshi (1793-
1853). The lacquered iron cuirass consists
of two hinged parts. The upper part is
laced. The bottom tier of the seven-
sectioned kusazuri (protective skirt) is
