A SET OF FOUR HONGMU ARMCHAIRS AND TWO
ZHAZHENMU STANDS 此拍品與下一個拍品原屬一套。
LATE QING DYNASTY
Each chair has a tall back splat carved with two registers, each
enclosing a different treasure, framed by the openwork back and
side rails carved as archaistic scrolls. The wide rectangular seat is
above a beaded apron carved with scrollwork. The legs are of square
section and joined by stretchers. Each stand has top panels set
within the square frame above a broad waist enclosing a drawer, on
top of openwork aprons in the form of scrolls, all raised on square-
section feet joined by stretchers enclosing lattice of crackled ice
pattern.
Chair: 38Ω in. (98 cm.) high, 24 in. (61 cm.) long, (6)
20 in. (51 cm.) deep,
Stand: 30æ in. (78 cm.) high, 17º in. (44 cm.) long,
17æ in. (45 cm.) deep
