A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS
MING DYNASTY, 14TH-15TH CENTURY

Seated on a double-lotus base with an incised band,
the hands in dhyanamudra and holding the kalasa,
his short dhoti with incised hems gathered under
the ankles, adorned with various beaded jewelry, his
face with downcast expression flanked by pendent
earrings surmounted by a tiara, the hair pulled into a
chignon and in locks escaping over the shoulders, the
base sealed with a double-vajra.
