The cover is finely decorated to the top with WATER POT
a central flower-head flanked on both sides LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH
with stylised foliage, the sides with a lotus CENTURY
scroll reserved against a bright turquoise The water pot of domed shape rises to a gilt
ground, the pattern repeated on the sides of rim. It is enamelled with four lotus blooms
the box. The interiors and base are gilt. that are picked out in red, white, yellow and
5Ω in. (14 cm.) long blue and separated by undulating leafy
HK$200,000-300,000 scrolls, all on a turquoise ground.
