A BLACK JADE PEBBLE-FORM SNUFF BOTTLE
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
6.4 cm, 2½ in.
PROVENANCE
Acquired 8th November 1974 (HK$3,600).
It is rare to find a black jade snuff bottle retaining its original
pebble form. With faint inclusions ranging from dark grey
to white, the bottle is reminiscent of a black and white jade
snuff bottle from the collection of Joe Grimberg, sold in our
New York rooms, 14th September 2010, lot 69, where the
broadest white inclusion resembles a band across the body.
HK$ 10,000-15,000
