The impressive basin is finely decorated to the exterior in delicate W.W. Winkworth（1897-1991）舊藏（傳）
shades of cobalt blue with pairs of birds perched and in flight 莫士撝，倫敦
amongst combinations of bamboo, prunus, and flowers growing 李公偉珍藏，於1970年代入藏
from rocks, all reserved on a shaded blue ground. 可參考兩件青花盆，尺寸及器型均於本拍品相近，其一飾荷塘
26 in. (66 cm.) diam. 仙鶴圖，2017 年 11 月 8 日於倫敦蘇富比拍賣，拍品 118 號；
HK$600,000-800,000 US$77,000-100,000 另一飾龍鳳紋，2014 年 3 月 20-21 日於紐約佳士得拍賣，拍品
2155 號。

It is exceptional to find a basin of this massive size, and given
the monumental dimensions of the piece it is impressive to
see that the design was executed to such a high quality.
Compare two blue and white basins of comparable size and
form dated to the 18th century, one decorated with crane and
lotus sold at Sotheby’s London, 8 November 2017, lot 118, and
the other with dragon and phoenix sold at Christie’s New York,
20-21 March 2014, lot 2155.
