A CARVED LAPIS LAZULI MOUNTAIN
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
The irregular boulder is carved in relief on one side with a
courtyard in the foreground nestled amid a mountainous
landscape, beside a flight of stairs leading up to a pavilion situated
on top of a peak. The other side is carved with a waterfall
cascading down into a stream in front of a stepped path ascending
to a building complex.
