A CARVED YELLOW AGATE PHOENIX-
FORM WATER POT
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The vessel is in the form of a recumbent phoenix, grasping
in its beak a lingzhi branch, the backward-turned neck and
head of the bird are well carved in high relief, the closed
wings detailed with feathers and project from the body
above the curled tail feathers and feet carved in low relief.
The back is centred by a small circular aperture, opening to
a well-hollowed receptacle.

水丞以黃瑪瑙雕刻而成，以浮雕手法雕一鳳回首繾綣，口銜靈芝，
雙翼卷尾，羽毛紋路雕飾細膩。背上見有注水小孔。
