to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, accession no. 1984.298, and another
The globular body rising from a short straight foot to a broad tapering
very similar example, formerly in the Ralph C. Marcove Collection, and
short neck, is decorated with five rows of curled petals, and is covered in a
now in the Harvard Art Museums, object no. 1991.269. A further Cizhou
creamy-white slip falling short of the foot to reveal the buff body.
jar of this rare type from the Carl Kempe Collection, was sold at Early
6Ω in. (16.5 cm.) diam. Chinese White, Green and Black Wares; Sotheby’s London, 14 May 2008,
