AN EXTREMELY RARE COPPER-RED-DECORATED
‘DRAGON’ VASE, SANXIANPING
KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE
BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)
The vase is finely potted with high rounded shoulders
surmounted by a gently flared neck encircled by a three-ring
band at its base. The elongated ovoid body is decorated in
underglaze copper-red with two three-clawed dragons, rising
from finely incised rolling waves.
