Dynasties period carvings of animals; see for

J.Hartman-Goldsmith, Chinese Jade, Oxford,
1986, p.51, no.16, for another in the Sonnenschein
Collection at the Art Institute of Chicago.

BADGER’ CARVING
17th/18th century
Smoothly carved as two interlocking recumbent
badgers, their heads turned to face one another, the
stone of white tone with light brown patches cleverly
used to highlight the smaller badger.
