A GREEN AND LAVENDER JADEITE VASE AND COVER
LATE QING DYNASTY
The flattened baluster vase is raised on a rocky base and is carved
in high relief with blossoming peony on one wide side between two
phoenix perched on each narrow side grasping peach and peony in
their beaks, each below a lion-mask-form handle, and set below a
third phoenix perched on one handle. The cover is similarly carved
with a phoenix grasped in its beak a lingzhi stem. The stone is of
pale green and lavender colour with some areas of apple-green
colour.
