A CARVED MOTHER-OF-PEARL SNUFF BOTTLE
PROBABLY GUANGZHOU, 1760-1850
The bottle is carved from lustrous pearly-white shell on one side with a scene of a fgure
looking out of an abode towards a sampan which is carved from a raised area of pale russet
color, the reverse is carved with two Westerners and a dog beneath a plantain tree.
2º in. (5.7 cm.) high, glass stopper
