A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE ARCHAISTIC VASE AND COVER This vase was previously in the collection of Hayashibara Ichiro (1908-
18TH CENTURY 1961), a businessman based in Okayama who was formerly the president
of the chemical company Hayashibara Co., Ltd. The majority of the Ichiro

from Hayashibara Ichiro." According to the inscription on the box, this vase was given from
Hayashibara to Nozu Katsumi (1917-2002), a businessman who started a
confectionary company as a part of Hayashibara Group in 1946, which is now
$40,000-60,000
one of the largest confectionary companies in Japan.
PROVENANCE: Lot 1029, the Ge-type faceted hu-form vase in the present sale, was also
Hayashibara Ichiro (1908-1961) Collection, Okayama, before 1955. formerly in the collections of Hayashibara Ichiro and Nozu Katsumi.
