The present bowl is rare on account of its form and
decoration. The lobed exterior is decorated with upright
scrolling branches while the interior is carved with radiating
petals encircling a central flowerhead. Dishes with similar
decoration to the interior of the present bowl are more well
known. See one in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated
in Tianxia Longquan: Longquan qingci yu quanqiu hua /
Longquan of the World: Longquan Celadon and Globalization,
vol. 1, Beijing, 2019, cat. no. 152; another in the collection
of Ng Seng Hiok, included in Chinese Celadons and Other
