A YELLOW-GROUND SILK EMBROIDERED CUSHION COVER SECTION
19TH CENTURY
The shaped cushion cover is embroidered with a central peony and lotus roundel with bats in fight,
enclosed by densely arranged peony and lotus blossoms on a blue embroidered wan pattern ground. The
outer border is similarly decorated with further large peony and lotus fowers amongst scrolling tendrils
and bats.
