A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF SHAKYAMUNI
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The fgure is cast with a serene expression and tightly curled hair with traces of
blue pigment. He is seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base, with his hands held
in bhumisparsa mudra, the earth touching gesture, with one hand on his lap.
He wears a dhoti tied at one shoulder which is decorated at the hems with a
stamped foral design.

18TH CENTURY
The fgure is shown with his right hand raised in vitarkamudra, while his left
is resting on his lap. His face has a mole on the right cheek. The lama is cast
seated with crossed legs on a rectangular base and wearing voluminous robes
incised with lotus and tendrils.
