BADGES AND A QUANTITY OF TEXTILES
Late Qing Dynasty
The rank badges variously woven in coloured
silk and gold threads, one a matched pair
with a military and civil official’s rank; together
with a quantity of embroidered panels, sleeve
bands and robe trimmings, many with Army
and Navy Ltd. labels. The largest panel:
65cm (25 1/2in) high x 48cm (19in) wide
(qty).

HYUNG BAE
Joseon, 19th century
Each woven in silk thread with a crane in
flight grasping a lingzhi branch, amongst
polychrome clouds and above rockwork and
foaming waves, framed and glazed. 29cm
(11 3/8in) high x 27cm (10 5/8in) wide (2).
