A LARGE FAMILLE-ROSE YELLOW-GROUND BALUSTER VASE
Jiaqing seal mark, 19th century
Of elongated baluster shape with tall flaring neck, intricately painted
with colorful floral scrolls on a lemon-yellow ground to the body and
neck, and with a wide white-ground band at the rounded shoulder and
rim with iron-red flowerheads on a green-enameled scroll, the body
and neck with a wide variety of shaped and sized panels depicting
floral scenes with insects lanterns, butterflies, fruit, dragon boats,
vessels, and other auspicious symbols, four loose lotus sprays to the
neck interior, an unusual iron-red six-character Jiaqing seal mark within
a shaped rectangular cartouche to the base.
